About
Hello! I’m Diana, a girl with a blog about stuff that is likely to be relevant.
My background is simple. My family is from Guatemala, but I was born here, in Southern California. I know how to speak, read, and write Spanish well. (Well enough, anyway. I make little mistakes sometimes, but they’re just the kind of thing that would make you cringe hard enough that it hurts, but yeah, you’d still get what I’m trying to say at you. Good deal, huh?)
I go to community college, and apparently, I’m an English major. I’m not awesome at reading or writing, but I like doing both, so I’m taking classes on them. On top of that, I’m getting a fancy paper when I’m done with all the classes. I was going to do this with web development (I love PHP), but it stopped being fun. I can’t stand dealing with the computer-illiterate.
I’m a puzzled mix of a Type A personality and this giant, giant slob that can’t get anything together. I think it might be that I just don’t pay enough attention to everything around me (as opposed to the something directly in front of me).
“Intolerant” would be a good word to describe me. I see a lot wrong with some situations, and I want it to stop. Period. Others don’t seem to be on the trolley with me. As a result, I’m a little bitter. Some of those situations would include that we treat animals like machines, that the pro-life movement actually exists and is taken seriously, that some people refuse to question any religion, that poor people are seen as lazy bums, that there are seriously people who think I’m worth less than them because I happen to be brown, and that there are people who think their whining is the most important.
And being nice and helpful is huge deal for me. Why? Because all those problems I listed above could be healed with a little collective humbling. As such, I like to do my part, as small as it may be.
I have a problem letting go of things. I still read children’s books, listen to trendy Christian hardcore bands from 2003, and make wishes at 11:11. I am having fun, though, so I’m okay with it.
