Get over it

When I was in grade school, people made fun of my frizzy hair. I didn’t care that I had frizzy hair. I wasn’t even aware that there was something significant about my hair. But apparently there was, and I got made fun of, and I started caring.

Sometimes I get made fun of now for my opinions. It’s a different kind of upsetting, but it reminds me of grade school. It’s like the further away you are from neutral on anything, the more likely it is you’ll end up a joke. Take a step in any direction, even an unimportant direction, and someone will find you weird and therefore, hilarious.

Now that I think about it, it’s kind of sad for the people who make fun of others. If you’re close enough to neutral to feel safe making fun of others, you are probably boring. Boring. God. How do these people live with themselves?

Then there’s the whole issue of bringing up something no one cares about. Imagine if someone next to you brought up that some kid’s shoes were ugly. The kid doesn’t care. Why the hell does the person next to you care? Tell them to find something else to worry about. There are problems all over the world. Tell them to pick a random place and start worrying about whatever is going on there. Or tell them to worry about themselves. They’re probably boring. Tell them to work on their personality. Most of all, regarding the kid’s shoes, tell them to get over it already.

Early vlog!

I found out I’m going to a volunteer orientation on Wednesday, so I decided to do a vlog today so I could focus my Wednesday energy on the orientation. (I’m gonna volunteer at my old grade school’s after-school program!)

Doing this vlog, seriously, it was like being back in gym class in 12th grade. Oh, and also, I mention Josh in this one, and also, Josh just did his first vlog, and it’s funny and awesome (DUH), so go see Josh’s, yes? YES.

Curly curly curls

Today, I woke up late, but I managed to leave the house early and get to history class on time.

Nothing interesting happened, but after the class was over, my friend, Daniel, started running to his car. I asked him why he was running, and he answered, “I got legs–I’m gonna use them.” Which I thought was a great phrase. A great dance flick phrase. Yeah!

When I got home, I picked up an overshirt because I had to go to English class, which doesn’t end till 10, practically. I left 2 hours early because I planned to get a hair cut.

I took the bus to the salon, except the salon was closed. I called the number on the Closed sign, thinking I’d get a time when a lunch break would end, or something. “Sorry, we’re only open on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.”

Hm. So I went to another salon, and you know what I figured out?

I used to have a mohawk, right? It grew out and I never got it trimmed. My hair was all kinds of stupid.

This nice lady named Monica cut my hair and gave me so many layers! I love layers! Most hairdressers wimp out when it comes to putting layers in my hair. My hair looks cute~ No more jacked-up curls!

By that time, I think I got a little sunburned from walking in the sun so much. I made it to English class, read some creative nonfiction, wrongfully winced (if I tried to write creative nonfiction, it’d come out essayish), and set up Apache/MySQL/PHP on one of the class computers.

I got home at 9:30. I liked today and I hope more like it happens.

P.S. I wrote a new article! Why You Should Make “That” Change. I will fix the comments on my pages tomorrow!
